Proposed new Guidelines for Rehabilitation Authorities

Under the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988, Comcare may issue guidelines to assist rehabilitation authorities in the performance or exercise of their rehabilitation functions or powers. These guidelines are a legislative instrument and rehabilitation authorities must comply with them.

In 2017, Comcare led a collaborative review of the current Guidelines for Rehabilitation Authorities 2012 (Guidelines). This was in response to fresh reviews and policies on regulation and workers’ compensation best practice. We are now releasing a consultation draft of proposed new Guidelines.

We invite you, your team and/or organisation to provide feedback on the draft. A guidance note is also provided which explains the intent of the legislative instrument.
