I hope you can join me at Comcare’s eighth annual National Conference to be held at the National Convention Centre in Canberra from 22-24 September 2010.
Our conference is a great opportunity for our government and business partners to come together to better understand how we can provide healthier, safer workplaces for our colleagues.
Since we last met, our landscape has continued to change. Upheaval in our economy and the business world can mean we sometimes overlook the individual and forget that each of us is an employee, colleague, family member, friend and community participant. Our conference will take a citizen-centric approach and explore the impact good work and a healthy workplace can have on individuals. We’ll explore how our approach to injury prevention and management be can socially inclusive and improve wellbeing.
There will be a major focus on mental health. The national survey of mental health and wellbeing states that one in five Australian adults experience mental illness in any year. With these large numbers it is inevitable that someone we know or work with has suffered a mental illness. This experience may affect how they—and we—deal with everyday issues.
Leading industry experts and fellow workers will also examine topical issues including claim management, disability and caring for injured people. They will share continuous improvement strategies and leadership skills required to build a strong health and safety presence in your organisation that can make a real practical difference to your workplace.
Comcare’s 2010 National Conference will provide you with an insight into the developments that will maintain and expand on the health and safety for all Australian workers.
Make sure you join your industry peers in Canberra in September 2010. It will be interesting and stimulating.
Together let’s improve, include and inspire workplace wellbeing.
