Comcare 2009 National Conference
Comcare’s 2009 National Conference was held from 23-25 September 2009 at the National Convention Centre in Canberra.
This year’s conference focused on what it means to be healthy and safe at work. As the impact of the economic slowdown is felt more widely, having a job is an important contributor to financial security, health and well being. How well are our workplaces meeting the needs of today and how flexibly will they respond to the needs of tomorrow?
Holistic approaches to injury prevention and management ensure that organisations can withstand immediate pressures in the operating environment and adopt a longer term focus to deliver on business outcomes into the future.
Speakers at the conference included academics, leaders and innovators from industry who provided participants with insights on best practice, leadership and assurance. Speakers explored practical and useful strategies on how to manage and reduce risks and address the human and financial cost of workplace injuries.
The conference offered participants relevant, innovative and practical professional development sessions, together with significant opportunities for networking with industry peers.
