Building a safety culture – Queensland Rail’s journey
Presented by Queensland Rail

Queensland Rail have embarked on a journey to improve safety culture through an integrated campaign aimed at changing attitudes, opinions and most importantly actions which has proved successful.

Participants will hear how the organisation and wider community were exposed to the real facts on workplace injury, baed on real stories and hard-hitting safety messages, as part of an emotive campaign to get the safety message heard.

Performance based culture to boost your organisation’s productivity
Presented by Tony Bradford, Managing Director, Centre for Corporate Health

The larger and more diverse an organisation’s workforce, the more difficult it can be to maintain an effective safety culture and sustain focus on strategic objectives. Leadership and safety values must be demonstrated at the top, to drive commitment and engagement throughout the organisation. 

Participants will hear about leadership and cultural norms and explore how behavioural patterns and styles can assist build a more productive organisation.

‘The way we do things around here’ - Workplace culture workshop
Presented by Comcare’s Prevention and Rehabilitation Branch

A positive workplace safety culture can lead to lower rates of accidents and injuries in the work environment, lower workers’ compensation premiums, greater productivity, and a happier, more engaged workforce.

Through short case studies, this session will look at organisational strategies to influence, implement and measure a safety culture. Participants will share approaches that aim to cultivate safe and productive workplaces and build a sustainable and healthy organisation.
