Comcare in partnership with Capital Health Network is hosting the following education event for General Practitioners. Psychologists and Occupational Therapists are also welcome.

Learning outcomes

The learning outcomes for this event are for participants to:

  • Interpret the assessment of primary work related psychological injury
  • Determine how to manage work related psychological injury
  • Explain the roles of different parties in assessing, treating and managing patients dealing with a work related psychological injury
  • Recognise the challenges and opportunities in providing collaborative care to optimise recover following a work-related injury
  • Utilise a biopsychosocial approach to identify risk of poor patient recovery.

Guest Speaker

Dr Jules Begg, Psychiatrist

Dr Begg is a forensic psychiatrist in private practice in Adelaide who has worked in the compensation area for many years undertaking independent assessments and clinical management of workers.  His interests as part of a general psychiatry practice have included psychotherapy, hypnosis and general forensic work. He has presented educational sessions on workers compensation matters and suicide risk prevention.
