Theme

This year’s conference focussed on organisational approaches for prevention and management of occupational injury and disease. In particular, the conference explored culture and systems underpinning effective management methods of psychological and slow onset musculoskeletal injuries.

Speakers included academics, leaders and innovators from industry and high profile business people who provided participants with insights on best practice, leadership and assurance. Speakers explored practical and useful strategies on how to manage and reduce risks and address the human and financial cost of workplace injuries.

The conference incorporated sub-themes that focussed on key elements essential for workplace safety. Which were:

  • Integration – how can workplace health & safety become part of everyday business?
  • Benefits – what are the range of returns on investment in a safe workplace?
  • Strategies – what solutions will have a lasting impact on health and safety?

Content of these sub-themes are relevant to leaders tasked with improving their organisational effectiveness; those involved in the management of workplace safety and rehabilitation at all levels, hands-on change agents and also safety representatives.
