2012 Rehabilitation Case Manager Forums – May

The Comcare Rehabilitation Case Manager Network Forums are designed to give you the opportunity to both listen to speakers working in fields related to the workers compensation industry and network with other case managers.

The Rehabilitation Case Manager Forums will be held again around Australia this year in May 2012.

The theme for the forums is Getting the fundamentals right. The objectives of the forums are to understand:

  • the fundamentals that are preventing and impacting employees from returning to work early and overcoming obstacles to spending a life in work
  • the fundamentals that lead to successful return to work following injury or disease
  • how best to engage the treating doctor to get the best return to work outcome

Comcare’s presentations will include an update on Comcare’s scheme performance; using a rehabilitation management systems approach to deliver best practice return to work and a presentation of case studies to review what has worked well and where lessons can be learnt.

Julie Sharples from Department of Family, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs will present Fahcsia's approach to supporting their staff in the return to work process.

A medical practitioner will discuss what it is like working with case managers and injured workers in the compensation industry as well as provide tips to case managers on how best to work with medical practitioners to get the best outcome for injured workers.
