Comcare Pharmacy Policy
Comcare can pay for the appropriate cost of medications prescribed by a legally qualified medical practitioner or dentist for the treatment of an injured worker’s compensable condition—under sections 4 and 16 of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988.
Our Comcare Pharmacy Policy emphasises safely prescribing medicines—especially those that can be misused such as benzodiazepines and opiates. In our policy we also clarify injured workers’ entitlements to access the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
