Comcare supports Safe Work Australia Week
Comcare is proud to partner with Safe Work Australia during Safe Work Australia Week, being held from 25 to 31 October 2009.
It is an important initiative in making safety a top priority and helping to promote safer workplaces for all Australians.
As workplace health and safety professionals, we all share a common concern about safety in the workplace and have a duty of care to our employees and to the families who support injured workers.
Did you know that over 135,000 Australians are seriously injured at work every year and more than 260 die as a result of work-related injuries. The total economic cost of work-related injuries and illnesses to the Australian economy for the 2005-2006 financial year was estimated at $57.5 billion, representing 5.9 per cent of GDP.
