Alert 14 - Safety Recall: Polaris Ranger 500

This Alert concerns the risk of injury due to an engineering characteristic of specific plant that may be in use.

Background

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued a safety recall for Polaris Ranger 500 and Ranger 500 Crew Off Road Vehicles with identifying features R13RH50AG; AH; AM; AR and R13WH50AG; AR; AH; AX sold nationally.

Safety Issues

  • Risk of throttle cable jam. The proximity of the throttle cable to the vehicle exhaust may result in the plastic shield melting causing the throttle cable to jam potentially resulting in loss of acceleration control.

Action Required

  • Immediately inspect vehicles for damage.
  • Isolate damaged vehicles from use.
  • Contact Authorised Polaris Dealers to arrange for repairs.
