Stay safe in the workplace video 2 transcript

Narrator: Take the time to conduct an inspection of your work areas and mess decks for any unsafe electrical equipment.  Things to watch out for include broken insulation and bare wires, loose or missing covers or fasteners, overloaded electrical outlets, portable appliances which have gone past their test date and illegal extension cords.  All power boards and extension cords are to be tested and tagged.  Extension cords are to be no longer than 25 metres, and both the male and female plugs are to be of the same type and rating.  Never use an extension cord that has a 115 volt plug on one end and a 240 volt plug on the other.
