On 11 April 2019 the Australian Government assumed a caretaker role, with an election to be held 18 May 2019.
Information on websites maintained by Comcare will be published in accordance with the Guidance on Caretaker Conventions until after the election and conclusion of the caretaker period.

Invalidity retirement

Comcare does not administer the invalidity retirement process. An application for invalidity retirement is managed by an employee’s nominated superannuation fund, which for most Commonwealth employees, will be Comsuper.

When an employee with a compensation claim with Comcare is facing invalidity retirement, Comcare’s role is limited to providing a recommendation to the superannuation fund administrator that either supports—or does not—the application for invalidity retirement.
