Better practice tips

The types of evidence that may be used in an audit include:

• documentation (such as reports, minutes of meetings, policies and procedures)
• rehabilitation files
• interviews with relevant personnel
• workplace observations
• IT system reviews.

The audit should include assessment of the following five elements:

1. commitment and corporate governance
2. planning
3. implementation
4. measurement and evaluation
5. review and improvement.
