Rehabilitation provider outcome standards

Under section 34 of the SRC Act Comcare establishes criteria [minipdf 38kb] and operational standards [minipdf 427kb] for rehabilitation providers. These standards are designed to ensure that rehabilitation providers deliver high quality services that contribute to successful return to work outcomes.

Operational standards include both outcome and service standards which enable Comcare to review performance not only against the performance of their peers but also to provide consistency in the evaluation of performance. Qualitative and quantitative information is used for performance assessments.

In addition to ongoing performance assessments, all rehabilitation providers are subject to a formal renewal process with Comcare every three years. The new approval period commences 1 July 2007 for 3 years.

Outcome Standards

The outcome standards consist of three measures:

  1. Return to work rate
