Compliance and Enforcement - Guidance Material
Available information
Practical guidance material is currently being developed about a range of issues which arise in the context of investigations and enforcement activities. These issues include:
- the privilege against self-incrimination;
- the content of employers' duty to take 'all reasonably practicable steps' to protect the health and safety of employees;
- the considerations informing decisions to take enforcement action;
- the protection provided to employees by s 76 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1991; and
- the investigation of workplace fatalities
