Issue	Hazard	Possible solutions	Check it
Oven cleaners	Fumes generated during spray application. Contact with skin during use	Read instructions carefully prior to use, and avoid inhaling any fumes whilst applying cleaner. Ventilate the oven following application and before proceeding to wipe oven surfaces. Wear heavy duty gauntlet length rubber gloves whilst cleaning internal oven surfaces. Dispose of cloth or paper wipes used for cleaning surfaces immediately afterwards and do not use for any other purpose in the kitchen.
Pesticides	Toxic residue left on food surfaces sprayed. Inhalation of airborne sprays. Contamination of food stored near pesticides.	Ensure that pesticide used is appropriate for the purpose and is safe to use in a food area. Wash down all food preparation surfaces after spraying has been completed and before using these again to prepare food. Do not allow food to be stored in same space as pesticides, and ensure pesticide containers do not leak or give off fumes whilst not being used.
Drain cleaners	Contact with skin during use.	Read instructions carefully prior to use and do not use for any other purpose or in any other way. Wear gloves and avoid splashing during use. Flush drain through thoroughly with clean water to wash away any traces of cleaner which remain. Do not store drain cleaner where it could be confused with any other cleaner.
