  • Take all reasonable steps to protect the health and safety at work of its employees.
  • Co-operate with the employer to the extent necessary to enable the employer to fulfil its obligations under the Act.

  • Provide and maintain a working environment that is safe and without risk to employees' health.
  • Not take any action, or make any omission that creates a risk to the health and safety of the employee or other persons (whether employees or not) at or near the place at which the employee is at work.

  • Ensure safety and the absence of risk at work to the health of its employees in connection with the use, handling, storage or transport of plant and substances.
  • Use equipment in accordance with instructions given by the employer consistent with its safe and proper use, that is necessary to protect the health and safety of the employee, or of other persons at or near the place at which the employee is at work.

welfare and facilities

  • Provide adequate facilities for employees' welfare at work.

access and egress from the workplace

  • Provide and maintain a means of access to, and egress from the workplace, that is safe for employees and without risk to their health.
