Have you looked at your workplace Health and Safety Management Arrangements (HSMAs) recently?

Many organisations are now reaching the first scheduled review of their HSMAs, or are taking the opportunity to refine or improve these HSMAs.

Comcare has now produced two brief questionnaires that are designed to help you carry out a self assessment of the HSMAs currently in place in your organisation:

  • one for employers to determine how effective their HSMAs are, and whether they meet OHS requirements
  • the other is for employees to provide their feedback about the HSMAs.

The questionnaires will help to identify what’s working well and what could be improved to identify better practice.  They will provide useful information for future communications and consultation with staff about health and safety or could be used as part of your HSMA review.

How to use the questionnaires

They could be:

  • used as fillable PDFs
  • adapted to any existing in house survey tools
  • provided to survey professionals and integrated into in house survey tools.

Comcare invites you to share your examples of what’s working really well for you. These ‘better practice’ examples will be published on the Comcare website, and will help to build a knowledge bank for all employers to access.
