The Advisory Group for the Centre of Excellence in Mental Health and Wellbeing at Work was established to provide confidential, strategic and practical advice to inform Comcare’s consideration of strategies to improve mental health at work. The Centre of Excellence will bring together best thinking, drawing on research, practice and new ideas to identify solutions that meet worker needs and improve scheme outcomes in psychological health and wellbeing.
Ms Christina Bolger, Director of Work Health is the Advisory Group convener. Secretariat services will be provided by the Work Health Team, Comcare.
Members of the Advisory Group are invited by the CEO as individual experts on mental health and wellbeing at work rather than as representatives of professional or constituency groups.
Other members maybe invited with agreement of the convenor to assist with particular expertise in a subject matter under discussion.
Members will provide:
Up to four meetings will be held each calendar year, in Canberra or Melbourne, unless otherwise agreed.
The outcomes of the Advisory Groups discussions will be reported to the Priorities Forum.
Further dissemination of the Advisory Groups discussions will be via the Comcare website and information sessions as appropriate.
The role and functions of the Advisory Group are advisory in nature. It is not a decision making forum and will not consider issues or outcomes on specific cases or with operational matters.
In keeping with federal law, accountability for the delivery of work health and safety and workers’ compensation arrangements and decision making remains with Comcare’s CEO.
The convenor will periodically consult with members about the adequacy of the terms of reference and satisfaction with the Advisory Group and its impact.
