How are licensees under the Commonwealth workers’ compensation scheme regulated?
The SRC Commission has responsibility for monitoring the compliance of licensees with the legislation and conditions of licence. Comcare manages the licensing arrangements and reports to the SRC Commission on licensee performance.
Licensees are regulated via the Licensee Improvement Program (LIP). The overall objective of the LIP is to provide a regulatory framework that:
- links the level of regulatory oversight to performance
- is easy to understand and administer, and
- focuses on a holistic approach to performance evaluation.
