14 September 2017
The Awards were presented last night in Canberra as part of Comcare’s 2016 National Conference.
A safer working environment for a Defence ballistics team and a new approach to change management at Australia’s nuclear research and development agency are among the initiatives recognised at the 2016 Comcare Work Health and Safety Awards.
Comcare CEO Jennifer Taylor commended the entrants for their commitment and innovation.
“It’s important to recognise efforts that are making workplaces safer and more productive and improving return to and recovery at work,” Ms Taylor said.
“This year’s entries were of extremely high quality, with the finalists showing a high level of impact, innovation and collaboration.”
Other projects recognised in the Awards include a Defence Housing Australia system to increase safety for field officers, and an improved injury management framework for Services Australia. Individual awards showcased the work of employees at the Department of Defence and the Australian Taxation Office.
