Know your workplace and know your responsibility for National Safe Work Month

This week, as part of National Safe Work Month, we’re focusing on managing risk and maintaining safety in the workplace.

When it comes to Work Health Safety (WHS), workplaces require an organisational wide approach to minimise the risk of injury and illness that could arise conducting that business. Everyone needs to be aware of safety in their workplace—no matter whether you are an employer or employee, including contractors.

That’s why a Work Health Safety Management System (WHSMS) is required for any workplace in Australia – a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU), under the Work Health and Safety Act. We provide an editable WHS management plan PDF that can be used to form the basis, or inform, your workplace’s WHSMS.

Make sure you’re being a safety champion this month by ensuring you understand your safety responsibilities at your work place, whether you are a full-time employee, the owner of a business or someone contracting to provide services.
