Medical practitioner support

Comcare’s General Practitioner (GP) Liaison Officer supports medical practitioners and practice staff to work with Comcare and facilitate the patient’s recovery at or return to work.

The GP Liaison Officer is available to meet with you at your practice or can speak with you over the phone or via email.

The GP Liaison Officer can:

  • provide education, support and advice about navigating the Comcare workers’ compensation scheme
  • link to you the relevant person in Comcare where additional support or action is needed
  • link you with the relevant person where invoices are outstanding
  • attend practice meeting to provide information on how to use the Certificate of Capacity, understanding Comcare legislation, navigating Comcare systems and processes; especially the employee return to work process
  • connect you with the relevant parties to help with complex or stalled claims
  • guide you through completion of the Certificate of Capacity.
