eLearn modules – Introduction to the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, (Cth)

Comcare has developed a range of eLearning modules to introduce workers and duty holders to various aspects of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Cth) (WHS Act).

Please note: the following eLearn modules are designed to take 10-15 minutes to complete and are not suitable as a replacement for formal training.  They are an introduction only. Further options to increase duty holder and worker awareness and knowledge can be accessed via Comcare training courses or presentations.

The modules:

Effective Health & Safety Committees – Health and Safety committees need to be established once a request is made by workers. This module briefly describes how to establish a HSC, its purpose, functions, roles and responsibilities of members and what makes a HSC effective.

Officer Work Health & Safety Responsibilities – Officers have specific duties under the WHS Act. This module provides an overview of those duties and what the term ‘due diligence’ means.

Work Health & Safety for Managers – identifies key parts of the WHS Act that are significant to you and your role as a manager particularly consultation and communication.

Work Health & Safety for Workers – All workers have a duty under the WHS Act. This module describes your duties, identifies parts of the WHS Act that are relevant to you, and explains how you can be involved in health and safety matters in your workplace.

Introduction to WHS Risk Management – Risk is a part of life. In this module you will gain an overview of the process of managing WHS risk and some ideas on how you can meet your duty of care obligations under the WHS laws.
