Workplace Rehabilitation Provider

Overview

Comcare's operational standards for Workplace Rehabilitation Providers (WRPs) require all providers and consultants working under the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act) to attend this training program as an introduction to working in the Commonwealth workers' compensation system.

The purpose of this course is to provide participants with specific knowledge and skills to actively undertake the role of a WRP consultant, in accordance with the requirements of the SRC Act.

The program outlines Comcare's return to work model, legislation, procedural aspects of the return to work process and examines issues that may arise during the return to work process.

Audience

This course is aimed at:

  • rehabilitation providers who wish to provide rehabilitation and return to work services for Australian Government employees or employees of licensees, who self-insure under the SRC Act
  • WRPs or consultants seeking approval to provide services in the Comcare scheme WRP consultants who have commenced work with an already approved service provider
  • WRP staff who require refresher training.
