Text to speech using ReadSpeaker®
ReadSpeaker® is available across all pages of our website for people who would like to listen instead of (or as well as) read the web page. ReadSpeaker does not allow you to access links or buttons.
At the top right hand of every page you will find the Text to Speech Listen icon.
When you click this, an audio player appears (see image below) and ReadSpeaker starts reading the text of the web page out loud. Please note that ReadSpeaker may take a while to start up.
In the player you can:
- Pause or restart the reading
- Stop the reading
- Use the progress bar to navigate in the audio
- Adjust the volume
- Click the settings icon to adjust the behaviour of the service
- Select the download icon to download the MP3 audio file
- Close the player
Use tab/shift+tab to navigate and select buttons within the player.
