Safe and healthy work
Strategies, advice and research to promote and support safe and healthy work.
We support you to provide a safe and healthy workplace and meet your obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011. See Coronavirus (COVID-19) for specific information about the COVID-19 outbreak and work health and safety.
A safe and healthy workplace is one where employers and employees work together to support and promote health and safety at work.
It's important to understand risk and recognise hazards so you can prevent harm and injury in the workplace.
There are legal obligations when notifiable incidents occur in the workplace.
If your organisation has a major hazard facility or conducts high risk work then you may need a licence, authorisation or registration.
You need to notify Comcare of certain circumstances that may cause risk. These involve hazardous chemicals, lead risk, annual plant maintenance and asbestos.
Exposure to asbestos and some dust conditions can be a health risk. Organisations have legal responsibilities to protect the health of their workers.
