Join us this October for National Safe Work Month
22 September 2025
Comcare proudly supports National Safe Work Month, a yearly initiative that encourages all workplaces to make safety a priority.
In 2024–25, Comcare was notified of 1,671 incidents assessed as notifiable under the Work Health and Safety Act. National Safe Work Month serves as a timely reminder to take action and embed safety into everyday work practices.
This year’s theme, safety: every job, every day, encourages all workplaces – regardless of occupation, industry, location or size – to prioritise safety in every role, every day. Practicing this approach helps reduce the risk of fatalities, serious injuries and illnesses, and ensures everyone gets to go home safely from work.
Comcare is hosting a series of free online events throughout October. The program begins on 9 October with a conversation on mentally healthy workplaces, featuring Beyond Blue CEO Georgie Harman AO. On 14 October, our Health and Safety Representatives Forum will discuss how effective consultation can be the catalyst to a safe and thriving workplace. A webinar on 23 October will explore how consultation can strengthen psychological safety, followed by a session on 29 October focused on SMART work design as a tool for managing psychological risks.
We encourage all workplaces to take part in National Safe Work Month by using the resources available, starting meaningful conversations, and making safety a daily priority throughout October and beyond.
