Report of the SRC Act Review

The Australian Government has released the report of the independent review of the legislation underpinning the Commonwealth workers’ compensation scheme.
This review, by a panel of experts, is among the most comprehensive examinations of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act since the scheme’s inception in 1988.
As the agency that administers compensation arrangements covering almost half a million workers, Comcare has always been supportive of modernising the scheme to ensure it remains contemporary and fit for purpose.
We will work closely with the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations to progress legislative changes and other reforms that support harm prevention and the effective return to health and return to safe work for employees.
