Directions, instruments and notices set out binding rules on how the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act) operates.

Directions, instruments and notices explained

The Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act) allows:

  • The Minister to issue directions to Comcare, licensees or the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission. A compilation of Ministerial directions is available from the Federal Register of Legislation.
  • For legislative and non-legislative instruments to be made explaining a legally enforceable act, process, obligation or right.
  • Gazette notices to be issued to alert people on the decisions and actions of the government and the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission.

The directions, instruments and notices define how the SRC Act functions. A range of topics are covered, such as licensing matters for self-insuring corporations, statutory rates and Ministerial declarations of coverage.

We include a list of notices issued by year.
