Compliance and enforcement activities
The WHS Year in Review (PDF, 3.9 MB) highlights Comcare’s compliance and enforcement activities to promote and enable safe and healthy work across the Commonwealth jurisdiction. It provides an overview of our regulatory activities for 2022 including work health and safety (WHS) incidents, inspectorate activities, monitoring and compliance activities, education and engagement and other programs of work.
Reviewing our past performance allows us to improve our services and to identify and address the needs of our scheme including looking at emerging evidence to validate our regulatory approach or to change course where necessary.
During 2022, psychosocial WHS risks continued to be a significant focus for Comcare in a complex and challenging workplace safety environment. Against the backdrop of increasingly prevalent compensation claims for psychological injury, we have worked collaboratively with duty holders to review approaches to managing these issues and foster mentally healthy workplaces to prepare for anticipated changes to WHS laws.
