On 11 April 2019 the Australian Government assumed a caretaker role, with an election to be held 18 May 2019.
Information on websites maintained by Comcare will be published in accordance with the Guidance on Caretaker Conventions until after the election and conclusion of the caretaker period.

Accessibility

Comcare ensures all information published on the Comcare website is accessible and usable to people of all abilities. This includes the use of accessible PDF's or alternate format documents include RTF.

We complete cross browser testing to ensure the website functions across a range of different browsers. We have optimised our graphics and downloads to ensure bandwidth times are minimised for those people with lower speed connections.

The Comcare website currently meets the (WCAG AA) compliance rating - a standard we endeavour to maintain across the site to stay at the forefront of website accessibility and usability.

ReadSpeaker® is available across all pages of our website. ReadSpeaker® is a family of online text to speech solutions that speech-enables Comcare's website for the benefit of people who would like to listen instead of (or as well as) read the web page.

ReadSpeaker® is built with usability, accessibility and device independency in mind to provide maximum access not only from PCs but also from iPhones and other smartphones including BlackBerry and Android powered phones, iPads, MP3 playing devices, PDAs, Video game consoles, Interactive Internet TVs and Internet booths and kiosks.

Font sizes

Users can control the text size using the following keyboard shortcuts.

  • On Windows Ctrl - to make text smaller or Ctrl + to make text larger.
  • On Mac  Command/Apple - to make text smaller or Command/Apple + to make text larger.

Printing pages

This site has no separate HTML-pages for printing. Instead, a print friendly version will be sent directly to the printer. The printed result will omit all irrelevant elements on the page. Text prints in black.
