Free webinar series aims to improve truck driver health

13 September 2021

Key findings from Australia’s largest national research project to improve the health and wellbeing of truck drivers will be shared as part of a new webinar series to be held throughout this month.

The nationwide Driving Health research revealed a health crisis facing the transport sector. Around 1400 truck drivers were surveyed and reported high levels of obesity, chronic pain and psychological distress, which indicated an urgent need for action to support driver health and wellbeing.

Comcare supported the research led by Monash University and co-funded by partners the NSW Centre for Work Health and Safety, Linfox, and the Transport Workers Union, as part of our ongoing commitment to enabling better practice across the scheme and supporting employers in the transport sector.

The series covers the following key themes from the research, including:

  • Driver fatigue
  • Mental health
  • Musculoskeletal conditions
  • Health and fitness
  • Pain management.

For more information about the free webinar series, visit the Monash University events page where you can register.
