Indigenous Australian Government Development Program
Comcare is proud to be a participating in the Indigenous Australian Government Development Program (IAGDP).
This entry-level employment and development program is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who are interested in working in the Australian Public Service (APS).
The 12-month program aims to significantly contribute to improving employment opportunities, experiences and outcomes for Indigenous Australians in the APS. We value and draw on the skills, capability and unique life experiences and perspectives that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees can bring to the workplace.
The program offers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on-the-job training, guidance, and structured learning and development, including a Diploma of Government (Project Management) to help expand capabilities and boost confidence to build a career in the APS.
Importantly, the program amplifies Indigenous voices within the APS, which boosts cultural competence and strengthens the capability of the APS to make inclusive and equitable policy across Government to benefit communities.
